Yo nunca festejé el día de San Valentín, pero este año, decidí celebrar el amor propio, ya que el aceptarse a uno mismo y quererse, es de las cosas más importantes.
Una vez leí una frase que decía que para amar a otro, uno debe amarse a uno mismo primero. ¿Qué piensan ustedes? Yo creo que en cierta forma es cierto.
Al mismo tiempo, tengo pensamientos cruzados respecto a este día, ya que para mí, el amor no debería tener un día específico para su celebración, sino que habría que celebrarlo y apreciarlo cada día. Además, uno no tiene por qué festejar el amor hacia una pareja en el día de San Valentín (si bien es la forma en la que se concibió y se entiende comúnmente); hoy en día, la gente celebra con amigos y familia también, lo cual me parece excelente.

I’ve never celebrated Valentine’s Day, but this year, I decided to celebrate self-love, since accepting and loving oneself is one of the most important things.

At the same time, I have crossed thoughts about this day, since for me, love shouldn’t have a specific day for its celebration, and it should be celebrated and appreciated every day. Also, I think you don’t have to celebrate only the love towards a partner on Valentine’s Day (although it is the way in which it was commonly conceived and understood); Nowadays, people celebrate with friends and family too, which I find excellent.
