As you may noticed by now, I’m a huge fan of colors and I love mixing them to create extremely unique and stylish outfits that make me feel empowered and reflect my mood at the same time. If you don’t typically wear color or are a little bit afraid of doing so, stick around, because I can maybe inspire you find courage to give it a go and change the way you look at colorful clothing.
Como habrán notado a estas alturas, soy una gran fanática de los colores y me encanta combinarlos para crear outfits extremadamente únicos y “stylish” que me hacen sentir bárbara y reflejan mi estado de ánimo al mismo tiempo. Si normalmente no usás color o tenés un poco de miedo de hacerlo, seguí leyendo, porque tal vez pueda inspirarte a encontrar el valor para intentarlo y cambiar tu forma de ver la ropa colorida.
Hello beautiful people! It’s been a while, I know, but due to technical difficulties with the site and the mess that 2020 has been, I wasn’t able to post or to be active here… but it feels so good to be back!
First of all, happy New Year! I know it’s a little bit too late, but better late than never, right? I hope this year brings some light and relief after the horrendous year that just ended. I know things won’t change in a day, or a month, but I hope we can end this new year on a positive note.
¡Hola gente bella! Ha pasado un tiempo, lo sé, pero debido a las dificultades técnicas con el sitio y al desastre que ha sido el 2020, no pude publicar ni estar activa acá… ¡pero se siente tan bien estar de regreso!
Primero que nada, ¡feliz año nuevo! Sé que es un poco tarde, pero más vale tarde que nunca, ¿no? Espero que este año traiga algo de luz y alivio después del horrendo año que acaba de terminar. Sé que las cosas no cambiarán de un día para el otro, pero espero que podamos terminar este nuevo año de una manera más positiva que el anterior.
Today’s post really excites me! The outfit I’m wearing is mostly vintage and the color combination is a new favorite of mine and it looks super stylish (the amount of attention it got was insane! A guy even stopped me on the street to compliment me on it). What makes this color combination work so well? These shades of orange and purple are what’s called split complementary colors, and it’s a great way to play with color by creating contrast, but in a less jarring way.
El post que les traigo hoy me tiene saltando de alegría. El outfit es en su mayoría vintage y la combinación de colores es una de mis favoritas del momento y se ve súper stylish (¡la cantidad de atención que recibió fue una locura! Un tipo incluso me paró en la calle para decirme que le gustaba el look). ¿Qué hace que esta combinación de colores funcione tan bien? Estos tonos de naranja y morado son los llamados colores complementarios divididos, y es una manera excelente de jugar con el color creando contraste, pero de una manera menos discordante

We shot the outfit with my mom after months of not doing pictures together and we had a great time (I was wearing a mask but took it off for the pics, use your mask kids!); for tea time, we went to a lovely place in the city that’s full of plants and beautiful decor and then, we returned home feeling joyful and satisfied after a lovely evening together.
Fotografiamos el look con mi mamá luego de meses sin hacer fotos juntas y la pasamos increíble (usé un tapabocas que me quité para las fotos, ¡no te olvides de usar tapabocas!); para la merienda, fuimos a un hermoso lugar en la ciudad que está lleno de plantas y una hermosa decoración y luego, volvimos a casa sintiéndonos contentas y satisfechas luego de tan linda tarde juntas.
Now let’s get into the details of this stylish look: I bought the beautiful orange blazer in a vintage store in Buenos Aires, called DeModé Vintage and the girls behind it are the sweetest! When I saw this piece I knew I had to get it, I’ve been having a little bit of an obsession with blazers lately —sorry not sorry— and as I didn’t had any in this color or fit I bought it. I decided to pair it with a silk printed scarf that I got from the same store and my beloved purple trousers (also vintage). To let the color of the other pieces shine, I added a plain black mock neck top and a pair of white boots. As accessories, I chose some gold hoops, a black baguette bag and my grandma’s RayBan sunglasses that tied up the outfit as a perfect 70s look.
Ahora entremos en los detalles de este look increíble: compré el hermoso blazer naranja en una tienda vintage en Buenos Aires, llamado DeModé Vintage y las chicas detrás de ella son una dulzura. Cuando vi esta prenda supe que tenía que tenerla, últimamente he estado teniendo una obsesión con los blazers —sorry not sorry— y como no tenía ninguno de este color o calce, lo compré. Decidí combinarlo con un pañuelo estampadp de seda que compré en la misma tienda y mis queridos pantalones morados (también vintage). Para que se destaque más el color de las otras piezas, me puse un top negro de cuello alto y un par de botas blancas. Como accesorios, elegí unos aros dorados, una cartera baguette negra y las gafas de sol RayBan de mi abuela que completaron el outfit como un look perfecto de los años 70.
