In today’s post, I’m showing you how to master the layering technique in order to be able to wear a summer dress in the fall/ winter. This technique is all about balance; you have to equate the use of a more summery item with the winter appropriate ones so you don’t end up freezing.
En el post de hoy, te muestro cómo dominar la técnica de layering (o capas) para poder usar un vestido de verano en otoño/ invierno. Esta técnica tiene que ver con el equilibrio; tenés que equiparar el uso de un elemento más veraniego con uno apropiado para el invierno para no terminar congelándote.
For me, there’s no such a thing as “summer or winter wardrobe”; don’t get me wrong, yes, there are clothing designed for each season, but what I mean by this is that I try to use the items in my wardrobe as much as possible, all year around: I mix and match the pieces I own to end up with a weather appropriate look… this is where layering plays a huge part.
Para mí, no existe un “armario de verano o de invierno”; no me malinterpretes, sí, hay ropa diseñada para cada temporada, pero a lo que me refiero con esto es que trato de usar los artículos de mi guardarropa todo lo que puedo, todo el año: mezclo y combino las piezas que tengo para terminar con un outfit apropiado para el clima… acá es donde el layering juega un papel muy importante.
GET THE LOOK
This outfit is a great way example for you to understand the technique so you can start playing around with layering: I decided to wear underneath my dress a knitted turtleneck top and some tights. For shoes, I chose a pair of knee high boots and to stay extra warm, I added my oversized teddy coat. To finish the look, I added some gold jewelry and a new handbag I got from Zaful.
Este look es un gran ejemplo para que entiendan la técnica y puedan comenzar a jugar con el layering: decidí usar debajo de mi vestido una polera de hilo y unas medias. Como calzado, elegí un par de botas altas hasta la rodilla y para mantenerme más calentita, agregué mi abrigo teddy oversized. Para terminar el look, incorporé un collar y aros dorados y una nueva cartera que compré en Zaful.
