Mixing prints can be a little bit intimidating sometimes, but once you master it, you’ll never look back. You can get some really unique outfits and also, make use out of clothes that you’ve never thought would go well together!
Mezclar estampados puede ser un poco intimidante a veces, pero una vez que lo dominás, nunca vas a mirar atrás. ¡Podés crear unos outfits realmente únicos y, además, usar prendas que nunca pensaste que combinarían!

On today’s post, I’m going to show you one of the many ways to mix prints … I chose to use plaid, which is one of the easiest to combine, and one of my favorites too. The key to mixing prints lies in balance and also, it’s a trial and error thing. To achieve this balance, we must determine one of the pieces as “the basic or staple” and the other one as the statement. The easiest way to do this is by using a piece with a colorful print (the statement) and another in neutral tones (the basic/ staple), as is the case with today’s look. Another great way is to use a large print (statement), and a smaller one (splaple or basic). You can also use patterns that have similar color schemes, which will make the patterns match in some way.
You have to be playful and open to try new things! Some of the best and easiest print combinations —in my opinion— are floral and plaid, plaid and plaid, polka dots and florals, stripes and florals, etc, (I think you get the memo).
En el post de hoy, les voy a mostrar una de las muchas formas de mezclar estampados… elegí usar cuadros, que es uno de los más fáciles de combinar, y uno de mis favoritos también. La clave para mezclar estampados radica en el equilibrio y, además, es una cuestión de prueba y error. Para lograr este equilibrio, debemos determinar una de las piezas como “el básico o staple” y la otra como el destacado o “statement”. La forma más sencilla de hacerlo es utilizando una pieza con un estampado colorido (el destacado) y otra en tonos neutros (el básico), como es el caso del look de hoy. Otra excelente manera es usar un estampado grande (destacado) y una más pequeña (básico). También podés usar estampas que tengan colores similares, lo que hará que los patrones coincidan de alguna manera
¡Tenés que jugar y estar abierta a probar cosas nuevas! Algunas de las mejores y más sencillas combinaciones de estampados (en mi opinión) son: florales y cuadros, cuadros y cuadros, lunares y florales, lunares y cuadros, etc., (creo que ya se darán una idea).

Today’s outfit has become one of my favorites, I know I say that of every outfit I post, but it’s true. Both my blazer and trousers were kingly gifted to me by the lovely people at Zaful. The blazer has an oversized fit and has pockets and shoulder pads. The trousers are made of a satin/ elastic material and have pockets; and although they’re a little bit big on me, I managed to fix that with a belt! I decided to put on a black crop top, also from Zaful and my black boots from Nasty Gal. To finish the look, I putted on some pearl hair clips and silver hoop earrings.
El outfit de hoy se ha convertido en uno de mis favoritos, sé que lo digo de cada look que publico, pero es cierto. Tanto el blazer como los pantalones fueron regalados por la gente de Zaful. El blazer tiene un calce holgado y tiene bolsillos y hombreras. Los pantalones están hechos de un material satinado y elástico y tienen bolsillos; y aunque me quedan un poquito grandes, pude arreglarlo con un cinturón. Decidí ponerme un top corto negro, también de Zaful y mis botas negras de Nasty Gal. Para terminar el look, me puse unas hebillas para el pelo de perlas y aros plateados.
