When I think of broderie anglaise (or English broderie), the spring and summer days come to my mind: the sun shining bright and the flowers covering the world in colors.
Cuando pienso en el broderie inglés, vienen a mi mente los días de primavera y verano: el sol brilla y las flores cubren el mundo de colores.
It’s not a surprise that this is a trend for the spring and summer seasons; this fabric is super lightweight, so it will keep you fresh during the hotter weather and the many details that it has will make your outfit look super romantic and feminine.
No es sorpresa que esta sea una tendencia de las temporadas de primavera y verano; esta tela es súper liviana, así que te mantendrá fresca durante el clima más caluroso, y los muchos detalles que tiene harán que tu atuendo se vea súper romántico y femenino.
A little fact for you to know is that this fabric is believed to have been originated in Czech Republic; but because its popularity grew in England in the Victorian era (19th Century, in case you don’t know), it’s referred as broderie anglaise. Nowadays is a fabric that is not considered as luxurious as it once was; but I love that is more accessible and I think is a beautiful way to add some new textures to your wardrobe.
Un pequeño dato que me gustaría darles es que se cree que el broderie se originó en la República Checa; pero debido a que su popularidad creció en Inglaterra en la era victoriana (siglo XIX, en caso de que no lo sepas), se la denomina broderie anglaise (broderie inglés). Hoy en día es una tela que no se considera tan lujosa o exclusiva como lo era antes; pero me encanta que sea más accesible y pienso que es una forma hermosa de agregar nuevas texturas a tu guardarropa.

Now, lets talk about todays look… here’s my take on the broderie anglaise trend, which I consider a must to try if you’re in the warmer seasons!
I got this dress from She In and I decided to wear it with a pair of knee high boots that I got some years ago from Zara and there are the comfiest boots ever. I added some gold jewelry, a straw bag (thanks mom for letting me borrow it) and I choose to wear red lips to accentuate the romantic vibes.
Ahora, vamos a de hoy… esta la forma en la que elegí utilizar la tendencia del broderie anglaise, que considero debés probar si estás en las estaciones más cálidas.
Conseguí este vestido de She In y decidí ponérmelo con un par de botas altas que compré hace años de Zara y son comodísimas. Agregué unos aros, una bolsa de paja (gracias mamá por dejarme tomarla prestada) y elegí pintarme los labios de rojo para acentuar la onda romántica.
